Windows SharePoint Services Help Search not in Services list of the Central Administration Console

Windows SharePoint Services Help Search not in Services list of the Central Administration Console. I do have the Windows SharePoint Services Search but not the Help Search. How do I get this service presented in the list so that I can configure it?

Bob –What version of sharepoint  2007 are you using? Based on my testing, here’s my best guess:If you are running Windows SharePoint services  (WSS) v3 by itself, you will not see a Windows SharePoint Services Help Search service. This is only displayed when you’re running Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 or WSS with Search Server Express

John,Thanks for the reply. I am running the MOSS version of SharePoint. I am running the Indexing on my Central Admin server and I am seeing Services Search. I can search  content but not SharePoint Help. I have two additional WFE but that is all that they provide.

Is there any chance this install started out as WSS, was then upgraded to MOSS? Otherwise, I can’t begin to guess as to why you’re seeing WSS search  and not WSS help  Search.Have you started the WSS Search service? If not, I would get that started and see if it indexes your Help documentation. Also, keep in mind that this doesn’t mean that the contents of your help documentation will be available via the farm’s standard search engine. If you search for a term in the Help documentation with the Search field on a SharePoint site, you won’t find
