I often have to run programs with long-running processes. When I want to check on the progress, the system is sleeping and I have to log in. How can my program keep the screen active?
If you can turn off sleep mode, then do that outside of your program (in control panel). If you cannot turn off sleep mode, it is probably because you don’t have admin priveledges, and the people that do set it for security reasons. In that case, you should “live with it”.
I have admin rights, but I do not want to monkey with control panel manually every time I run one of these lengthy data extractions. I do not want to permanently shut off sleep mode. I just want certain programs to signal the system that it is active,
